Maintaining the competition’s high standards requires considerable financial backing. Patrons and Friends play an extremely important part in this. They also provide great support as hosts for competitors, and as volunteers.

As a Patron or Friend you will receive:

  • advance notice of, and priority booking for all stages of the competition

  • invitations to receptions organised prior to, or during, the competition

  • optional acknowledgement of support on our website

While public sector funding to support the competition was available in the early years of the SIPC, this has gradually been reduced to the point where the competition’s financing is entirely dependent on Patrons and Friends, and other donors. Supporting SIPC demonstrates commitment to the arts in Scotland, and to the delivery of a prestigious international music event in Glasgow.

There are several categories of Patron or Friend:

  • Gold Patron: £500

  • Gold Patron Couple: (at same address): £750

  • Patron: £200

  • Friend: £35

  • Two Joint Friends: (at same address): £50

  • Student: £10

  • Family (at same address, up to two adults and four schoolchildren): £75

We can receive payment via bank transfer or cheque. Instructions will be given upon submitting the online form. Please note that due to the increase in postage costs over recent years, we aim to communicate by email where possible.
