Chun Lam U, 20
Chun Lam U was born in 2002, and is currently studying at Oberlin Conservatory under the tutelage of Dang Thai Son. He started learning the piano at the age of 5 at GMC Music Academy and studied with principal Rizzo Chung.
Chun Lam has continually achieved top prizes at many local and international competitions. His achievements include prizes in the George Enescu International Piano Competition, Van Cliburn Junior Piano Competition, Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists, Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians, and Hanoi International Piano Competition.
Chun Lam has collaborated with many orchestras, including George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Salzburg Chamber Soloists, VNAM Symphony Orchestra, and HK Youth Symphony Orchestra, performing under the batons of Kensho Watanabe, Peter Bay, Lavard Skou-Larsen, and David Gomez Ramirez.
In addition, Chun Lam is invited to several music festivals, including the PianoTexas International Festival and Academy, Todi Music Masters, and the International Maestro Piano Festival in Taiwan. Chun Lam also frequently attended the masterclasses of world-famous pianists and teachers, such as Maria João Pires, Tamás Ungár, William Grant Nabore, Anne-Marie McDermott, Pascal Nemirovski, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Alessio Bax, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Angela Chang, and Alexander Kobrin.
